DITCH THE LENSES WITH LASIK
Laser-assisted in-situ keratomileusis, or “LASIK,” in Edmonton and Barrhead is a surgical procedure used to correct vision irregularities such as nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism.
But before you can receive laser vision correction with LASIK, you must meet the following requirements:

The process all starts with a comprehensive eye exam. We will evaluate the general health of your eyes and evaluate your current eyeglass prescription. To complete the assessment, the optometrist will dilate your eyes to look for refractive errors within the interior of your eyes.
Once your eye exam is complete, you will need to prepare for a LASIK consultation. This consultation is the final step in determining whether you are an ideal candidate for LASIK laser eye surgery. This consultation includes the following assessments:

Additional measurements of your eyes to confirm your candidacy

Detailed corneal topography measurements of the shape and thickness of your corneas

Wavefront measurements to determine the amount of aberrations in your eyes

A tear film analysis

A close inspection of your eyelids
-
A test to determine your dominant eye
As you go through this LASIK consultation, you will be given information on the LASIK fees, which can depend on the type of LASIK technology that is used or recommended.
While there is no guarantee that you will be considered a candidate for LASIK, you don’t have to worry about the clarity of your vision. There are other potential ways to help support your sight, such as getting photorefractive keratectomy or phakic IOL implantation.
